Read the passage. You can read it again when you answer the questions.
Bees visit flowers to find food. Inside many flowers is a sweet liquid called nectar. Bees drink nectar and carry some back to their hive. Honey bees use it to make honey.
Flowers also have a yellow powder called pollen. When a bee lands on a flower, pollen sticks to its fuzzy body. The bee flies to another flower, and some of the pollen rubs off. This helps the flower make seeds. New plants can grow from those seeds.
Many fruits and vegetables we eat depend on this help. Apples, blueberries and pumpkins all need insects like bees to carry their pollen. Without bees, gardens and farms would grow much less food.
What is nectar?
How does pollen get onto a bee?
Why does it matter when pollen moves from one flower to another?
